Seoul Rehabilitation Hospital, established at Gusan-dong, Eunpyeong-gu in April 1998, marks its tenth anniversary in 2008. With ten-year-accumulated know-hows and studies of its rehabilitation experts, it has contributed to giving patients (acute, subacute) who need intensive care, overall rehabilitative services and opportunities to rehabilitate themselves physically, mentally, and socially. Rehabilitation of our center can be summed up as “3L,” or Total Rehabilitation Program.
 
Seoul Rehabilitation Hospital opened the only Youth Rehabilitation Unit in Korea on December 1, 2006. This made the Life-Cycle Rehabilitation (for children, youths, and adults) possible. In other words, people of all ages and at any stage of development can enter a rehabilitation program. The Youth Rehabilitation Unit will function as the connecting link for Children Rehabilitation and Adult Rehabilitation and also be the place where increasing numbers of teenagers who have an acquired disability can be taken care of systematically.

Seoul Rehabilitation Hospital has developed new rehabilitation programs every year such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, psychotherapy, speech therapy, aquatic therapy, pain management, respiratory therapy, cognitive therapy, sensory integration therapy, art therapy(irregular), gardening therapy(irregular), social adjustment therapy, and many more. In addition, Seoul Rehabilitation Hospital categorized these numerous subdivisions into “Sports Rehabilitation” which treats traumas caused by sports activities, and “Recreational Rehabilitation” which uses fun games, and “Driving Rehabilitation” which collaborates with driver`s licence agencies. We have kept introducing new, advanced rehabilitation systems by destroying or combining conventional rehabilitation classification. The number of visitors for our Center exceeded 225, including foreigners. Among the visitors, rehabilitation clinic personnel looked around Snoezelen Room and Occupational Therapy Room and spoke highly of our advanced rehabilitation programs.

Seoul Rehabilitation Hospital opened the first Day Care Hospital for Children in Korea in order to help children to have close friendships with one another and to educate the parents to give them more information and strengthened stress relief function to provide the standard for children rehabilitation treatment. Seoul Rehabilitation Center came to have a wider variety of options, depending on patients` disabilities and needs, because Day Care Hospitals for Children and for Adults got established. By doing so, it made a system with which it can provide patients who want long-distance care, short-distance care or intensive rehabilitation treatment with hospitalization, Day Care Hospital, and outpatient treatment to complete “Rehabilitation Tailored to Lifestyle” which reflects on living conditions and need of patients.

Seoul Rehabilitation Hospital has accepted fearlessly the new challenge of providing rehabilitative services tailored to every patient such as Life-Cycle Rehabilitation, Life-Entertainment Rehabilitation, and Life-Style Rehabilitation. This was possible because Seoul Rehabilitation Hospital has grown on the Christian spirit, “If a grain of wheat has to die to bear much fruit, we need to be the grain.” Seoul Rehabilitation Hospital is planning to provide high quality of rehabilitative services by holding seminars on Neuroscience and on Developmental Disability, and by constantly working on research and development. Furthermore, it is going to make the world’s best rehabilitation center which has a listening ear to clients, and make a great contribution to the society by means of medical and social services.
