Medical tourism in Russia•China
 

Dong A University Medical Center (President Kim Sang Beom) opened an International Medical Center in Feb 2010. The Center performed facioplasty on Margarita (19, Female) living in Ussuriisk who was born as a cleft lip by inviting her and her mother to Busan who were recommended by Vladivostok branch of Korea Tourism Organization.
This global 'Global Sharing Medical Tourism' project has been broadcasted in Russia and Eastern Europe through major programs and major news of Russian public TV. Dong A University Medical Center signed an agreement for mutual cooperation in medical tourism with the Russian Consular due to this and selected as a hospital designated for applying for Russian visa.
The Center sent a medical tourism manager introducing Korean medical practices and hospitals together with Busan to the Vladivostok branch of Korea Tourism Organization and participated in medical tourism fair held in Vladivostok and Sakhalin in 2010. The Center also participated in medical volunteering in Cambodia in 2010, Laos in Jan 2011 as a part of global social contribution.
The Center sent medical staff to Beijing and Tienjin, China in 2011 and treated employees of Korean companies and overseas Koreans along with researching local medical markets, and signed a contract for treatment with Yeondal Hospital with 3000 beds and Beijing Korean Association, Tienjin Korean Association.

President Kim Sang Beom said that “We have been preparing for medical tourism from 2009 and we are at the stage of full operation from 2011".
