Catholic University, Incheon St. Mary’s Hospital’s Cranial Nerve Center consists 50 staff led by the Head of Neurosurgery Center Han Young Min and 21 specialists from neurosurgery, neurology, rehabilitation medicine, diagnostic imaging, oriental medicine, psychology and performs quick treatments including operations for 24 hours in all areas in cranial nerve diseases.
The center has specialists and systematic system to treat cerebral infarction, cerebral hemorrhage, cerebral aneurysm and strokes as well as brain tumor, cerebrovascular malformation along with Parkinsonism, facial tics, epilepsy, torticollis, radiation operations. The hospital has the best medical staff and operation system even in difficult brain surgeries such as cerebrovascular surgery, brain tumor and brain dysfunction and the results are outstanding as well. The hospital established preventative, diagnostic, treatment processes performing drug or surgical treatments to prevent strokes through a system diagnosing strokes.
St. Mary’s Hospital’s Cranial Nerve Center received highest evaluation (Grade A) from 2006 to 2010 from evaluation on appropriateness on acute storkes by hospitals conducted by the HIRA based on these results.
St. Mary’s Hospital’s Cranial Nerve Center has three major goals in treating strokes. First is accurately treating within very short time, second is to help avoiding further damages on damaged brain, third is preventing recurrence or stopping progresses.
