Hospitals of National Cancer Center are the place for treating cancers with advanced equipments like proton therapy (picture) and outstanding medical staff.
The Center is operating 10 centers by diseases with most common types of cancers in Korea (Center for Gastric Cancer, Center for colorectal cancer, Center for Lung cancer, Center for Liver cancer, Center for Prostate cancer, Center for Thyroid cancer, Center for Breast cancer, Center for Uterine cancer, Center for Specific organs cancer, Center for Pediatric Oncology) and 5 functions centers (Center for clinical specialty, Center for clinical trials, Center for cancer prevention & detection, Center for proton therapy, Center for diagnostic oncology).
Each center maximizes specialty by deciding unified treatment methods upon discussions by experts from each field such as internal medicine, surgery, radiation oncology as well as providing the best care for patients. Especially, clinical researches are performed so that new diagnostic•treatment technologies are actually used in treating cancer patients.
Cancer specialist personally performs examinations at the Center for cancer prevention & detection, and the Center is equipped with advanced equipments such as PET/CT so that when abnormalities are discovered then treatment is performed with corresponding center to confirm the diagnosis and to treat.
